Why choose us

Ofsted (2019) "Children skip to school each morning with smiley faces. Children are happy, confident and share a tight bond with their key person. They are polite, well mannered and give a warm welcome to visitors."

Collyhurst Nursery School and Neighbourhood Area 3 Children's Centres are based in the north of Manchester. Our Nursery School is a maintained local authority school with a designated Head teacher and Deputy Head teacher.

The nursery classroom is led by fully qualified and highly experienced teachers offering a range of critical educational expertise resulting in narrowing the attainment gap for our most vulnerable children. We have excellent links with outside agencies to support children with special educational needs and we have a qualified teacher to co-ordinate our special needs provision across the whole setting. There is much research to show that the teaching quality within maintained nursery schools' is consistently high for all children and that children make substantial progress, enhancing life chances. Our nursery classroom caters for children 3-5 years and currently offers 30 hour FULL TIME places for our nursery children. We have superb kitchen facilities that provide a range of outstanding, nutritional lunchtime meals which cater for all dietary needs.

We currently have places available for 2 year olds, 3 year olds and 4 year olds and please call to check our availability.

Our Daycare is managed by a Daycare Manager (BA Honours in Early Years Childhood Studies) and caters for children from 6 months to 3 years. Within the daycare classrooms we have paying places available for working parents and 15 hours free entitlement places for children eligible for two year old funding.

We are surrounded by superb outdoor grounds and have developed a natural outdoor Forest School learning area with mature trees and shrubs – a stimulating setting for 'outdoors' activities! Children have free access to our outdoors throughout the day.

We offer the flexibility for working parents and children who are eligible for the 2 year, 3 year and 4 year grant. We are a communication friendly school and we are particular supportive of children with speech and language delays or disorders. Our teaching and learning approach supports the development of children's self-esteem, independence and confidence.

We offer Before and After school club provision which operates between the hours of 8am and 5.30pm and is available to children under 6. We also offer a Holiday Club which runs out of term time and is available on first come first served basis and can be accessed to under 6 within the community. Where possible we offer flexibility to meet the needs of our families.
